 David;
If I am reading this right; the Salem cemetery is unacceptable because of the presence of past students and staff?
just on a wild guess I suspect finding a cemetery within a hundred miles of Salem that doesn't have any of them would be not too likely, but maybe my perception is slanted by the fact I probably have someone from  most of these cemeteries in my family file and on a wild guess would suspect I could find someone in just about all of them that meet the criteria to be there, I just haven't looked.
My inclination would have been Miller cemetery, but I think it is too open, just a couple clusters of trees in the east middle and NW corner. it is small, less than aa tenth of a mile wide and half that north to south.
So I went on Google earth and every cemetery I located was pretty much the same, best for trees were Cox cemetery in Jefferson and the Mount Angel Abbey cemetery.

 I'm very familiar with Salem Pioneer Cemetery so did the filmmaker. He grew up in the area.  This cemetery has strong connections to the school, considering how many students and staff over the years since 1870 are buried there as well as neighboring City View Cemetery. Plus the fact this old but still functioning cemetery is small, too. (I have been there few times). So this cemetery is out of question.
