This is more a Washington question than Oregon but I am hoping maybe there is an Oregon part that will help.
Julia is born in Nebraska, but on 13 April 1940 gives birth to Garry Allen Barnes in Klamath Falls, Klamath, Oregon.The father is Ernest Ross Barnes born 4 November 1912 in Oregon, possibly Express but almost certainly in Baker County as that is where his parents marry and are found in 1910.
Earnest or Ross as he is called in the 1950 Census dies in Nevada while Julia supposedly dies in Washington state where I figure she went to be near her sister Clara Brown. Clara's husband dies in 1966 and she dies in 1979 and try as I might I have not been able to find hide nor hair of Julia.
So I have two Oregon questions, did Julia and ross marry in Oregon? Most likely prior to 1940  and did Julia remarry after leaving ross? She is a real cipher, I don't even have a firm date for her birth, just that it was about 1910.
I know everything I need about her parents and most everything about her son except firm date of birth for his wife and any date of death, but that's a South Dakota question.
Speaking of South Dakota there is a lot of stuff available about some of the Sioux and such on Archives,com which I think is Family search or Ancestry they have made available on their site. All you have to do is figure out the relationship between thier aboriginal names, the English translation of such and their anglicized aliases and the variations.
