First post to the list, and am hoping someone will know something about my surnames.<BR>

Looking for information on LANGWORTHY, George Anson.  Know he came west from IL in 1847 with a cousin Augustus J Langworthy.  But don’t know with which group, or if by themselves.  There is lots of public info on AJ after he gets to OR Terr and then Portland — but not much on George Anson.  I do have lots of genealogy info — but am wondering if anyone might know where I can find the OR Trail info, or other?  Have tried some online sources — Territory census, etc — no info.<BR>

Also looking for GARWOOD family info.  We have been told that Sabra Garwood (married G.A. Langworthy), her sister Jane (married A. J Langworthy) and a brother came west in  1848 from Fort Wayne, IN.  Can’t find any info about their arrival — don’t know the name of the brother.  Anyone have ideas of where to search? No info in on line Territory census that I could find.<BR>

Also looking for any info on a John Douglas MAXWELL (b 1863 in Edinburgh, Scotland). He first appears in 1910 when he marries a descendent of G. A. Langworthy.  No info re where  he came from, how he got here.  Any ideas? Found him in the Portland Directory for the years 09,10 and 11 — then he disappears again. He had a first wife — but don’t know name or where married.  <BR>
