It is fun to read the many wonderful stories that have been coming on the list in the last few days. Keep it up everyone!
<<<Some time ago, my then 12 year old granddaughter wanted to know what my favorite TV program was when I was a girl. She was horrified when I told her we had no TV>>
This one made me laugh, because I was talking with someone with a 11 year old granddaughter standing by.....the lady had asked if she was out of school because of a vacation day, then went on to say that the kids were out of school more than in. To defuse the talk I asked the lady if she remembered the time during WW2 the time that we went to school on Saturday? I don't know if it was just in our area or not, but it gave the older boys and girls time to help in the fields both spring and fall. My granddaughter looked at me with big eyes and asked ....."NO Saturday morning cartoons?".....her reaction was the same when I said NO TV........
