<DIV><EM><FONT face=Verdana size=3>I am 60 years old and I remember getting on
the trolley at Jennings Lodge, if my memory is correct. My mother and I
rode into Portland. I had an uncle who lived in Jennings
Lodge.</FONT></EM></DIV>

<DIV><EM><FONT face=Verdana size=3>You could have taken a trolley to go towards
Estacada but if you went up the Clackamas River I don't think you would have
gone to Jennings Lodge. Oaks Park is north of Jennings Lodge
and Jennings Lodge is north of Oregon City and that would be closer to the
Willamette River which runs north and south. The Clackamas River runs more
east and west and it flows into the Willamette at Oregon City. There is a
park there under the newer Oregon City bridge that is known as Clackamette
Park. If you go to Estacada now and go east up the Clackamas River there
is National Forest land and many campsites. I think it is part of the Mt.
Hood National Forest. You can keep going and eventually come out on the
Mt. Hood highway. This is as good as my memory gets
anyway.</FONT></EM></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face="Times New Roman" size=3>In the Teens and early Twenties my
parents used to take the Estacada trolley from near Oregon City up the
Clackamas River to a camp ground where Dad loved to fish. I think it was
called Jennings Lodge, but I'm not sure. Even in the 50's when I was a
kid in Portland, there was an "InterUrban Trolley" from the East end of the
Hawthorne Bridge to Oregon City. I only rode it to the Oaks Amusement
Park, but believe that there was a transfer point to the Estacada Trolley in
Milwaukee.</FONT></DIV>
