<BODY style="FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY: Arial; BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffffff">My Evans family settled in Oregon before 1900. They were ranchers in Gilliam and Wheeler Counties. They came from the midwest. The father's name was Rufus Albert Evans and he is said to have been born in Red River Texas. Traces of that have been hard to find. My Richardson line descends from George Richardson who came west in 1852. He settled first in the Willamette Valley and eventually lived in Summerville where it is documented that he was in the group of settlers who lined up to volunteer to enter into combat with the NezPerce when they escaped into Montana. He did not actually go with the soldiers and settlers. He felt ill and his son-in-law, John Hawk took him home. He died in bed that night. It is supposed of a heart attack. George Richardson's second wife's family were the Findleys-Griffith-Ritchie families who came west at about the same time. Some earlier and some later. If you have questions that I have not covered, please ask. Maybe I will know </BODY></HTML>
