was Orrin Root. This is in the Rigdon journal kept at Rigdon Station in
the Cascades near today's hiway Oregon 58. The journal is in the Oregon
Historical Society Library in Portland, OR. In his party were 2 men, 5
horses and 1 wagon.</FONT></DIV>
