Mn,</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial>and came to Alsea with her parents in 1883.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial>Her father was a fiddle player and also
played</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial>at the dances in the area. The family
survived,</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial>as did many others, when they discovered
black</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial>sand on the beach - Gold. Nora was also
one</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT face=Arial>of the only women to sail the Alsea Bay
alone.</FONT></DIV>
