Patience Back. When he was fifteen years of age his father died and left
him the eldest of seven children, to </FONT></DIV>

educating them. Working at home and abroad at such occupations as were
offered. He was married August 8,1833 to Miss Nancy Wann, daughter of
William and Lydia Stockton Wann, in Meigs County, Tennessee. Later they
settled in Bradley County, in that state, beign then in the Cherokee
Nation. In this primitive home </FONT></DIV>
