Nancy, I've sent the three pictures of Onnie to my site photographer, Julie
Hendricks, who will turn them into JPGS, now that her computer is working
again. Meanwhile, who is this person? Nancy Hemstreet Rhinehart,
(?-1930) Any info you can come up with will be greatly appreciated.

I would love to have a photo of Ona Ramsdell in her Salvation Army
uniform. Do I need to send payment for the print? Postage? Will there be
permission to publish and credits? Please advise. Connie Guardino

Hello Pat: Ona Ramsdell aka
Onnie aka Oneatta Elnora Ramsdell was indeed the twelveth child of Thomas
Manley Jr. and the first wife of my grandfather, Guy Fitch Phelps, married
8 Sept 1897. Onnie was born 30 Jan 1872 Yaquina Bay, OR and died
17 May 1902 one day after giving birth to her only child, daughter Naomi
Oneatta Phelps. Onnie is buried in Lone Fir Cemetery, Portland, Oregon.
Her daughter, Naomi, never married and was my mother's half-sister.
Onnie was the youngest woman ever appointed captain in the Salvation Army.
Thanks to the Ramsdell family I do have several photos of Onnie in her
Salvation Army uniform. Photos of Onnie and information on her was
also provided to the Metropolitan Pioneer Office. Onnie's half-brother
and half-sisters are all deceased. Of the six nieces of Naomi, four
are still living. I am one of the four. Should you wish to
send me the photo, please contact me personally for mailing info. Nancy
