<DIV><STRONG>I was living in Medford</STRONG> <STRONG>by June of '49 but do remember the Columbia River freezing over in Dec. of '48. Lived in Montavilla until I was 12 (1840) then in Parkrose until 1949. Remember walking to school during the silver thaws and the east wind - lots of fun. Missed the rain when I first came down here. Ah, nostalgia!</STRONG></DIV>
