<DIV>Unfortunately not.  My Powell ancestors were very early settlers in Virginia, Jamestown about 1623, then to the Carolinas, Kentucky, Missouri and on to Oregon.  John Powell was the ancestor who came to Oregon about 1848 or so, then took a short trip to the California gold fields, returned to Oregon in the Portland/Gresham area and took up farming and public service, served in the Oregon Legislature for a few years.  His daughter Rose was my paternal Great Grandmother, she married a German immigrant named Carl Brandes.</DIV>
