<DIV><STRONG>There is a Powell Blvd. in Portland but I don't recall for whom
it was named.</STRONG></DIV>
<DIV><STRONG>There are several other places in Oregon named for some Powell:
i.e. Powell Creek, Crook Wheeler Co's. It was apparently named for Fred
A. Powell who had a large ranch near there</STRONG>.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV><STRONG>Powell Creek, Douglas Co., named in 1973 to honor William Powell,
one of the first mail carriers of the area.</STRONG></DIV>
<DIV><STRONG></STRONG> </DIV>
<DIV><STRONG>Another Powell Creek in Josephine Co. named for John L. Powell
who worked a donation land claim in 1855 near the stream.</STRONG></DIV>
<DIV><STRONG></STRONG> </DIV>
<DIV><STRONG>Powell Valley, Multnomah Co. was named for 3 pioneers - James
Powell and Jackson Powell 1852 and Dr. J. P. owell of 1853. They were not
related.</STRONG></DIV>
