<DIV><STRONG>He Gene - I too remember the horsedrawn wagons. My favorite was the fruit and vegetable wagon although we didn't purchase very much during the '30's. After moving to Parkrose in 1941 we didn't see the wagons as it was out in the country at that time and we raised our own veggies and my grandparents, living next door had fruit trees. It would have been the most logical way to peddle different products as the farmers came in to Portland with their buggies full of goodies from the farms. Money for trucks and gas was very scarec. There were some wagons still, during the war due to rationing of gas and tires.</STRONG></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face="Times New Roman">down near Lake Merritt, Oakland, CA, circa 1940-</FONT></DIV>
