Thanks to all of you who so kindly replied to my posting.  I haven't done 
much cemetery hunting except in small cemeteries in the midwest where
there is no office.  I understand from being on genealogy e-mail lists
for some time that even when there is an office, there might not be
complete records or the staff may be less than cooperative.  I'm glad
that in the case of Rose City my fears seem groundless.

Indeed I am in San Francisco but am planning a trip this fall
specifically to visit all the graveyards, mausoleums and crematoriums
that house my relatives.  The person I'm looking for is Josephine Wagnon
(I'm still not clear on her maiden name) and she's my only remaining
brick wall for that generation.  I'd sure like to ask her a few questions.
