<P>Sorry Ronda, I only found an <STRONG>A. B. Holcomb</STRONG>. He was
mentioned as having been one of a number of other men who in the spring of
1850 found the "guilty as charged" indians responsible for the Whitman
massacre.<BR>None of the other names you asked for are listed in the index,
which so far has proven thorough. I will do my best to get Clarissa's pioneer
tale transcribed for you soon.</P>

<DIV></DIV>>Hi Nan,
<DIV></DIV>>Thanks for looking! I would like to read Clarissa's
story. Stephen D Ruddell was my ggg grandfather. Are any
of the following names in the book: Tyrus Himes, Helen Himes
Ruddell, Emeline Holcomb or Charles Wenzell?
<DIV></DIV>>Thanks again,

<DIV></DIV>> John, Judy, Steve and Ronda,
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>> I've been reading this great book, "Conversations
with Pioneer Women" by Fred Lockley, and while reading my email this morning
decided to check it's index for your
'RUDDELL' surname. I found, Rigdon RUDELL, son of
Stephen Douglas RUDELL of Missouri. Stephen D. was mentioned as having married
the story teller's mother, Margaret STEWART WHITE, widow of William WHITE. The
pioneer story teller, dau of William and Margaret was Clarissa Asineth WHITE
DUNBAR. She is Rigdon's half-sister. There are more family names mentioned as
well as neighbors and friends.
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>> If you are interested in Clarissa'a story or if
any one else wishes a look up in the index (oh don't we love those indexes!),
just ask, these stories are absolutely fantastic!
<DIV></DIV>>
<DIV></DIV>> Happy Hunting,
<DIV></DIV>>
