the former a native of Virginia and the latter of Indiana. The father
crossed the plains to Oregon in 1845, the mother arriving in the state two years
later. Their marriage occurred in 1849.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial>In 1902 George J. Currin sold out and took up his
residence in Heppner, later, in 1904, purchasing a ranch of twenty thousand
acres near the town, and he has since been extensively engaged in sheep-raising
with his two sons, Hugh C. and Edward R. Currin.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT face=Arial>In Clackamas county, June 1, 1875, Mr. Currin was united
in marriage.</FONT></DIV>
