<DIV>The B.C stories got me thinking (Very dangerous thing to do!) but her are a few remberances--</DIV>
<DIV>I was a Jr at Franklin Hi School (1946?) and had a summer job working for a Compressor/Pump repair Shop downtown (Bishofberger?). We went to some big office building and the building custodian took us way down into the Sub-basement. There was a big Air Compressor that we had to fix (I was just a gofer).</DIV>
<DIV>We fixed the Comprsser, and then the building custodian said he wanted to show us something. He opened another door and there wa this room with about four big tables well over six feet long and 3 feet wide. He told us to look at the table real close. When we did we saw that they were made of thick (4inch) slabs of clear Pine. and covere with a thick (1/4) inch coat of clear wax. We asked him what it was and he said it was an old Chinese Mortuary!. Spooky!</DIV>

<DIV>I got another summer job working as a gofer at a Texaco Station just a block or so from the New FRED MYERS Store. It was down near the river. My Folks liked that store a lot. I think it was the First Fred Meyer Store to open.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>I also remember a Theater on Hawthorne that my folks liked to go to, because it would have Vaudavill Acts before the Movie. Anyone know the Name of that threatre?</DIV>

<DIV>At my job wok=ring on pumps and compressors one day it was raining and my boss said we needed a new Wiper blade for the Truck (a ford V8 panel truck) and sent me out to get a new one. Well, I took the truck to a service station and bought a new blade and put it on. It had stopped raining by then and so we finished up and went home.</DIV>
<DIV>The nest day my Boss and I got in the truck and headed out to the next job, and it started to rain again and I turned on the wipers and and the Wiper went SWISH and disapeared!!. I stopped and got out to see where it went. Well, it going back and forth above the windshield!! I had put it on upside down!!</DIV>
