<DIV>Hello. I am not researching the Daue's but do have a little info.
on a Daue family in Salem, Oregon. I am a member of Assistance League of Salem.
About 20 years ago we bought an old home in Salem and remodeled it into a
gift/antique shop.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>It is still called the "Daue House." This is a Craftsman style house
that was built in the 1890's (other dates are 1907 & 1908) located at
1095 Saginaw Street South (on the corner of Owens and Saginaw). It is
now on the historic register. The house was designed and built for Alexander
Frederick Daue by his bother, Louis S. Daue. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>The little information I have on the Daue family is that the family
originated in Germany in the 1700's. Ludwig Frederick Daue was born in Germany
in the year 1819. He came to the U.S. and married Caroline Hurst. They
traveled to the Oregon Territory to settle (I do not have the date). They had a
son named Alexander Frederick Daue who married Ida Mae Turner. This family
was in Portland at one time but eventually moved to Salem. One of their
sons was named Hubert Ludwig Daue - he married Juanita Beggs and had five
children. One of those children was Lois Juanita Daue who married Harold Stanley
Schrenk and had a son named Eric Daue Schrenk. Eric married Janie Marie
Huston. </DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>Brothers Alexander and Albert Daue ran a grocery store in Salem for many
years - I do have some information on that store that I could also share.</DIV>
<DIV> </DIV>
<DIV>This does not quite match the info., that you sent, but Daue is an
unusual name and you query caught my
eye.
