<DIV><STRONG><FONT size=4>However, word did leak out about the sinking of the
sub but more as a rumor, like the incindiary (sp) bombs that drifted from Japan
into our forest lands. Fortunately, the Japanese didn't realize that in the
winter the forests wouldn't catch fire because everything was too wet. The
bomb factory was located in Japan and bombed by some of our brave Army Air Corps
pilots and crews and that took care of sending bombs over here on the air
currents. (USAF wasn't made into a separate service until after the
war).</FONT></STRONG></DIV>
