I too tried Oregon state archives for Verna and her mother and father and came
up null, there are some Hardwicks in the index, but no amount of twisting
around of the names you have would arrive at anything like them except one Maud
A married to some Culver and a Lu Verne Althea that appears there three or four
times. For future reference the search link is;
http://genealogy.state.or.us/start.lasso?location=search
and at the bottom of the page are some links that will take you to pages that
will tell you how to order stuff and so forth.

now to the other genealogist, I googled you mystery kin and found the following
fellow;

Raleigh E. Emry
12602 Scissortail Drive
Manchaca, Texas 78652
(512) 282-9269

who seems to be citing the person that was already mentioned as having info;

59. Lee, Bernadine, 1910 N.E. Weidler, Portland, Oregon 97232. Series of Family
Group Sheets in files of Joseph Philip Barnes. The source is presumed to be:
Bernadine Lee, 1910 N.E. Weidler, Portland, Oregon 97232.

Okay after much consternation I determined that this Lee is not the other
person who Sue found for you, so now you have two more leads to share
information with. I will paste in the page with Verna on it in a minute, after
i convert this to html.

Oh, your comment was correct too, most folks think we chat too much, but as
some folks have said, much of that chat is valid in that it fills in blanks,
and it also ocasionally inspires some timid soul to venture a query where in a
more "formal" list they might be afraid to.
I will try to do a query and I hope someone out there can help me. I am
trying to find a death record for a child named Verna Marie Hardwick. I
think she died sometime between 1915 and 1919. She was the child of Noah
Hardwick and Versey Venus Howell. She was born Sept. 11, 1914 in Oregon,
but I don’t know where. I also would like to have an actual record of her
birth as this date was given to me by a volunteer at the Blue Mountain Genealogical
Society and she didn’t tell me where she got it..
