<DIV>This is a link to a website that gives a detailed history of the possible 

origins of Taps.  I had actually Googled this subject several weeks ago 

looking for the all of the words to Taps...only to find that there are many 

different words.  It would also seem that there are many different versions 

of the origin...possibly all versions have some grains of legitimacy.</DIV>
