ever built.</DIV>
<DIV><BR></DIV>
<DIV>When I lived in Tacoma, I had to take the Bus to town to get to
school. The Bus route passed a Cord Dealership, and there was always a
1938 Cord Phaeaton on display in the Window. (usually bright RED)
Boy was it neet!!!</DIV>
<DIV>During Summer Vacation in Portland I worked at a Service Station ( I
Think near Fred Meyers) . I had to move cars around the lot to get
different work done. The Boss told me to move a sparkling Tan Packard
Straight Eight. I got in and started the engine, and the clutch pedal
jusdt dropped to the Floor!! I was sure I had broken it, but the boss
said No it was Ok, 'cause it had an automatic clutch so you could turn a
switch and use a regular clutch. It also had "Dynamic" Breaking. That
really shook me up, because you only used the gas pedal, and when you backed
off on the gas the breaks came on! Boy did you have to be
careful!!</DIV>
<DIV>We had neighbor near by who owned a Lincoln Continental, Shinny Black and
really BIG. Had push Button door openers.</DIV>
<DIV>On of my buddies dads had a Chrysler AirFlow with an automatic
Transmission.</DIV>
<DIV>and Another had a Lincoln Zephyer ( with a Columbia Rear End). My
Dad had 1941 Chevrolette 2 Door Sedan, but I couldn' drive it 'cause it was a
company car (my dad didn't own a car until after he retired.) He got a new car
every year from the Company (Texaco).and he drove all over Washington State.
He was usually home only on Weekends until we moved to Portland (abt
1945)</DIV>
<DIV>One of the last cars my Dad got was a 1945/46 Studebaker. (The wierd
looking one) I didn't get to drive it either<BR>Bob Goodman <BR>USAF Retired
