<DIV><FONT size=2>HI: HOPE YOU don't mind me sticking my nose in
here. what county are you talking about. i went to the courthouse in
st. helens about 3 years ago and they have hundreds of binders in one
room. i went thru a lot of them and got so much info. you wouldn't believe
it. you can mark each binder and photocopy whatever you want. hard
to believe all that info was there. i was interested only in land records
and what a bonanza. i also went to the library in hillsboro and found, in
the little gossip column when and where my mom was born. along with her
brother and four sisters. she had told me how much she weighed when she
was born but i guess i really didn't believe her. there it was in
print: 16 1/2 lbs. she really was a big'n. some of the
newspapers they had on film but the ones i wanted back to 1916, when she was
born were all original newspapers. interesting day and i have my cousin to
thank for all of it. i just noticed you are interested in a washington
county. sorry, all of this came from oregon. there is a dayton down
near mc minville and thought that was where you were interested in.
although dayton, oregon, i believe, is in yamhill co. well, maybe this
will help someone. there is also a logging museum in vernonia, ore. that
is loaded with memorabilia and lots of pics. i'm not quite
that old but i do remember when the trees were huge. i used to ride with a
log trucker. one tree would fill the back of the truck. all that
they are logging no a days look like telephone trees with bark. sorry
again, i should have read all that you wrote.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV>Sue, I believe most libraries have a reference book
called a "reverse</DIV>
<DIV>directory" which lists occupants by address. Used to use
it all the time</DIV>
<DIV>when working in residential real estate. Some times they
are a year or so</DIV>
<DIV>out of date however. Regards
