<DIV>Hey Gary...just to add another little twist: In the booklet that he
prepared for one of the Oregon Bonney family gatherings, Wm. Bonney who was the
director of the Washington State Historical Society in Tacoma ca. 1930's
noted:</DIV>
<DIV><EM>"...Waconda, 'the town that was God'...."</EM> I have
always wondered what reference he was making. In researching that area
though, one finds a number of religious groups forming their own
communities ca. 1850's through 1860's. In fact, it was the first stop of
Rev. Keil and his party who later moved north to Pacific County, (near Menlo)
Washington...this is the father of Willy Keil whose body was brought over the
Oregon Trail in a coffin filled with alcohol.</DIV>
