the census I copied at the archives. My eyes must be a lot worse than
they were a few years ago when I made the copy. I think they only asked
about citizenship in the 1910 and 1920 census but am not sure of that. I
need to go to the library and use Heritage quest to look them up again so I can
actually read what it says. If you have access and good eyes maybe you could
read what it says. </span></font></p>

I realized that she came here when she was only about 3 years old and he came
just after the civil war so I was able to find their marriage record which was

has the NA in that column and I assumed it meant Naturalized, but when I tried
to obtain the naturalization papers for that person, using the date, place etc.
I was told by the people that provide those documents that na meant not
applicable and that the person was not naturalized after all.</span></font></p>
