Just to set the record straight, I am a she not a he. I also found
in
that same record they had Stanford Howell marrying another woman.
I
can't remember her name but I think it started with an O so if
you
scroll down to the O's and look in the groom's side you will
see
Stanford Howell.
I do have the actual marriage record, but thanks for
offering to get it
for me. Stanford and Adeline were my great, great
grandparents.
Stanford is the big mystery guy. I don't know who
his parents were but
I am going to start looking in Illinois around 1830 as
he was born about 1832.
I have a distant cousin who thinks he went to
Arkansas and married a woman there but I haven't found anything to make me think
this is accurate.

I know that there were a lot of Howell's that came to Oregon early and
got land, I have checked most, if not all of them out and none of them has
Stanford living with them. One of my thoughts is that he was an orphan and
perhaps was living with
another family.

As for your folks, are you familiar with a book called "The History of
Douglas County"? It has a lot of family profiles in it so I would check it
out if I were you.

In the meantime, I will keep my eyes peeled for your people.
Thanks
again,
Dale in California
