I am a descendant of Nancy Collard Kent (1816-1903), dau. of
Charles Collard (1781- ??). This past week I learned her first cousin,
Felix Alver Collard (1810-1864) migrated to Oregon in 1847 with Capt. Joel
Palmer. There is alot of information on this Collard family in the Pike
County Illinois book (chapters of that book are online at Glenda's site

There is also a William Collard b. 1833 that migrated to
Oregon in 1853. He is a son of a John & Mary Collard but I haven't fit
him into my family database yet. Are there other Collard family
researchers in our OR-Roots group? They are intermarried with Lewis,
Hubbard, Cannon and other early Oregon families.

Felix Alver Collard was reportedly an early Indian Scout and
land surveyor. I'm looking for more info on him and his descendants as
I've just begun to research this branch of my family in Oregon.
