family's bare bones data. However, it was James Walker Harpole's wife who
died on the Oregon Trail near Baker City, Oregon, and he returned east to marry
her cousin, who helped raise his younger children and they had more kids.
William Pope Harpole did <u>not</u> return east to remarry. </span></font><font

This book tells which of our Harpole family came in the 1851 Harpole Wagon
Train. It also tells that all of Wm. P. & Nancy M. Harpole's children
were born in Pike County, Illinois and they did come west with their
parents. Our Nancy E. Harpool/Harpole was only three years old that year,
so of course she was with her parents. Susan was eight and Paul was
eleven when they came to the Oregon Territory with their parents.</span></font><font
