<P>I see that one of your names is McCarty, there is a book out, "In Pursutt of The McCartys" by Jon M. & Donna McDaniel Skovlin, Reflections Publishing Company. Cove Oregon, 2001.</P>
<P>It has a lot of McCarty History in it, do not know if any are related to yours, but is interesting and has some of my family in it.</P>

So many of us have ancestors that traveled that trail and I worry that the history of the trail over time is becoming diminished. My early Oregon ancestors - Cox, King, McCarty - all came to Oregon via the trail. They joined the many pioneers on their to Oregon in Missouri and were among some of the earliest to arrive here. I am very proud of my pioneer stock and am eager to finally begin to put that history together for our family.
