pulled up stakes after successfully having a farm near Scio and moved to
Hardman to be a teamster. His kids went on to Columbia County WA and Idaho and

is what I know. Along about 1860 or so, (maybe earlier) the mines opened
up in eastern Oregon and Idaho. Many men took to transporting goods to the

to try to figure out what the attraction was. Was there gold there?
Or some other industry to cause people to move up there. I too had a
