realize that my family isn't the only one that had strange or intersting
names.</FONT></DIV>

<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>I have a Delight Powell; siblings St. Elmo, St.
Clair, and Zelda Powell; Speedy Powell, Elfleda Powell; Seraphine, Seraphina,
and Sophronia Powell; and of course, Haddassah Powell, a good bliblical name
from the story of Esther in the Bible. Orange Powell; Orion Alvarado Powell.
Some of these have made me wonder what or who was in the spotlight at the time
they were born. Of these names, some are from the early 1700's clear on up to
the late 1800's.</FONT></DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial></FONT> </DIV>
<DIV><FONT size=2 face=Arial>I figured out a long time ago that even though the
name Rowland Powell shows up generation after generation it doesn't mean that
anyone with the name Rowland Powell is from my family tree. I had a great uncle
that did some research 50 years ago that had the John Wesley Powell of
Grand Canyon exploring fame as being in our family tree. According to my
research his father, place of birth and year of birth (which seem to be well
documented) makes it impossible for him to be in my tree unless we go back to
merry olde England.</FONT></DIV>

seen the name Permelia as well. A Permelia married a Hodson back in Iowa
