<DIV>Watkins - for nearly 30 years Watkins was a post office in the upper

1893 - post office operated in this locality until November 30, 1920, when it

<DIV>Copper is the name of a locality on the Applegate River, near the
mouth of Carberry Creek and about a mile north of the Oregon-California
line. It got its name from the copper mining activity in the vicinity,
especially at the Blue Ledge mine just over the line in California. The post
office was established in November 1924 - discontinued in May
1932.
