Some were first cousins, and in several cases brothers of one family married sisters of another already related family. The only problems I have discovered were the health issues of the families that already had tendencies toward diabetes and related issues; they intermarried and that caused several deaths from diabetes, Brights's Disease, and nephritis.

-----Original Message-----

Last week we had an interesting discussion about cousins
marrying. Now I can’t help but wonder how many of you out there
have run into double cousins? That is, as an example I have three Frazier
Brothers who married three Stanley sisters. This made all of their
children double cousins. I have this in my family as recent as my great
grandmother. Her husband’s sister married my great grandmothers
brother. All of their children were double cousins and in fact related to
each other the same as brothers and sisters would relate. They were all
very close.
