I called the Oregon State Hospital Department of Medical Records. They put me in touch immediately with the woman who has access to the cremains information. She was a great deal of help and also sent me the Asylum Cemetery book. This took place this past May (2009) so am not sure what they are doing now. She also called back with a couple of ideas of how to find commitment information. It didn't pan out for me but she was very helpful.

--- On Sat, 9/19/09, MStang5165@aol.com <MStang5165@aol.com> wrote:

From: MStang5165@aol.com <MStang5165@aol.com>
Subject: Re: [or-roots] Need specific info. . . .
To: or-roots@listsmart.osl.state.or.us
Date: Saturday, September 19, 2009, 6:42

I am the one who posted the message about the OHS cremains. This is in the
classified section of the Statesman-Journal (Salem) and at the bottom of the
notice it states that it will be published each day September 16 - 22. It
does not say when the names are to be published, just "Notice of intent to
publish." And, I could not find it in today's paper.

It also includes the following e-mail contact for information but I have
sent messages to this address three times and they have bounced. oshcremains@state.or.us
