<DIV><STRONG><FONT size=4>Recently my son and I located a Civil War headstone
on private property in Baker Co. for a great grand uncle. It too had no date,
just rank and company. I sent a photo of it to David Samuelson and he located
from NARA (I think) a card showing the same information plus a date. Why it
was not on the stone is a mystery. The govt. supplied CW headstones from about
1864 to 1903 and this one was on the pinkish side. My grandson, who had
recently finished a five year enlistment with the OR Ntl Guard recognized it
as a military headstone as soon as he saw the photo we took. If you have
Ancestry you can see a copy of the card by searching for James FitzJames
Cooper (J.F.J. COOPER on the headstone). His is the last card
shown.</FONT></STRONG></DIV>
