<P>POWELL--Ollie W. Powell of London, passed away at her home Wednesday, February 17, 1965 at the age of 80. She was born in Nebraska, March 8, 1884, and was married in Eugene February 26, 1908 to Charles L. Powell who passed away in 1958. She had lived at London for 60 years, and was a member of the Hebron Church of Christ, and the London Grange. Surviving are her two sons and two daughters: Archie E. Powell, and Mrs. Clara Floster, both of Cottage Grove, Arden C. Powell of Chico, California, and Mrs. Elva Garman of San Diego; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one brother, one sister: Archie Warthen of Salem, and Mrs. Pansy Martin of Cottage Grove. Funeral services will be held at MILLS MORTUARY in Cottage Grove on Saturday, February 20, 1965 at 10:30 a.m. Mr. Roy Hutchison officiating with interment in Bemis Cemetery.<BR></P>
<P>POWELL - Archie E. Powell of Eugene, died November 27, 1990, at the age of 77. He was born February 19, 1913, in Irving, Oregon to Charlie L. and Ollie Warthen Powell. He married Eva Jean Inman, at Elmira, Oregon on June 6, 1942. They made their home near Cottage Grove, Oregon in the community of London until 1968 when the family moved to Eugene. He retired from Lane County Public Works in 1979. Archie worked his early years in the Cinnabar Mines at Black Butte, Oregon. After 18 years working in the mines he resigned and went to work for Lane County where he worked for 33 years. He was a member of the Church of Christ at Hebron, Cottage Grove and Santa Clara, Oregon. He served as an elder for all three of these congregations. He is survived by his wife, Jean; sons Dean and wife, Vernithia; Steve and wife Lalee; Chuck and wife Debbie; and his daughter, Eva; he had eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; also his sister, Elva Garmen of San Diego; his brother, Arden Powell of Springfield; his sister, Clara Foster of Klamath Falls; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Nancy. Memorial services will be Saturday, December 1, 1990, at Santa Clara Church of Christ at 2 p.m. in the afternoon. Contributions may be made to Santa Clara Church of Christ Indebtedness Fund. MUSGROVE FAMILY MORTUARY is in charge of arrangements. <BR></P>
<P>For those not familiar with the south part of Lane County, London is a small area south of Cottage Grove. You will also see it referred to as Black Butte Rte. The Bemis Cemetery is in that area, too.</P>

<P>It is Archie Powell that married into the family so I don't have much information on his siblings and their families.</P>
