I also don’t post all details on the site. I’ve been researching the women for 30 years. It’s taken me that long to find all of them. The purpose of the web site was to provide basic info in case descendants were searching for the women. It’s worked out very well. The location of the mine saw almost 30 claims filed in that area since about 1881. I found that some of the women had connections to Oregon as did others that were connected to the mine or to Wrangell.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:black'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:black'>Thank you for taking the time to search on this for me!<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:black'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:black'>Trish<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif";color:#1F497D'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><div><div style='border:none;border-top:solid #B5C4DF 1.0pt;padding:3.0pt 0in 0in 0in'><p class=MsoNormal><b><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Tahoma","sans-serif"'>From:</span></b><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Tahoma","sans-serif"'> or-roots-bounces@listsmart.osl.state.or.us [mailto:or-roots-bounces@listsmart.osl.state.or.us] <b>On Behalf Of </b>Gene Newcomb<br><b>Sent:</b> Thursday, February 10, 2011 8:47 AM<br><b>To:</b> 'or-roots mail list'<br><b>Subject:</b> Re: [or-roots] Lewis and Clark Centennial Exposition 1905<o:p></o:p></span></p></div></div><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D'><a href="http://www.designsbytrisha.com/garnetledge2.htm">http://www.designsbytrisha.com/garnetledge2.htm</a><o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D'>This site is a history of the Wrangell garnet site and mentions the Alaska Ruby Mining Company, but has no history of the specific incident mentioned in this thread.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D'>Gene Newcomb<o:p></o:p></span></p><p class=MsoNormal><span style='font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif";color:#1F497D'><o:p> </o:p></span></p><div><div style='border:none;border-top:solid #B5C4DF 1.0pt;padding:3.0pt 0in 0in 0in'><p class=MsoNormal><b><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Tahoma","sans-serif"'>From:</span></b><span style='font-size:10.0pt;font-family:"Tahoma","sans-serif"'> or-roots-bounces@listsmart.osl.state.or.us [mailto:or-roots-bounces@listsmart.osl.state.or.us] <b>On Behalf Of </b>Glen Jones<br><b>Sent:</b> Thursday, February 10, 2011 7:59 AM<br><b>To:</b> or-roots mail list<br><b>Subject:</b> Re: [or-roots] Lewis and Clark Centennial Exposition 1905<o:p></o:p></span></p></div></div><p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p><div><p><span style='color:black'><br><br><br>There is also a book out on the Centennial Expo, I do not remember the name offhand and while I have looked at it<o:p></o:p></span></p><p><span style='color:black'>I do not remember if it mentioned anything about the mining company.<o:p></o:p></span></p><p><span style='color:black'>Glen Jones Portland<o:p></o:p></span></p></div></div></body></html>
