<table cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0" border="0" ><tr><td valign="top" style="font: inherit;"><div>Ronda; </div><div>that is one of the thrills of using Family Search is I am finding a lot of the source material for my family histories that I had not seen referenced or had long since lost track of what the person I got the information from had for sources. I often extract reports from other peoples gedcoms to get to the meat of what I am interested in and many times for whatever reason I don't get the information that way to tell me what their sources were, or sometimes I just rely on the person to be competent. </div><div><br></div><div>I have been seeing a lot of hits where one of my "reliable" sources obviously got his information from and have seen a few times where either I transcribed it wrong or he did. (haven't gone back to check yet) or else the material I am getting from Family search is one step removed one way or another
from his. A lot of what I am finding on Family search is transcribed from original city records about a hundred years ago and I am really curious if any of those city records are still around to cross check, not that I'll ever have the resource to do so if they are. I often wish the person transcribing had taken a little more care with his or her penmanship or had used a writing implement with greater durability. Oh well, there I go looking gift horses in the mouth again.</div><div><br></div><div>Also Family search is adding more stuff all the time and they have a call for volunteers so if you have lots of free time (HA! HA!) I am sure they would welcome your assistance. Maybe you could index records in the area you are looking for stuff?</div><div><br></div><div>Les C</div><div><br></div><div><br></div><div>></div><div><p class="yiv868491110MsoNormal" style="font-family: arial; font-size: 10pt; "><span style="font-size: 11pt; font-family:
