<P>Polk City Directories are named such for the individual who own the company that created the City Directories last name was Polk. Not sure about the Oregon Historical Society (I have not been there for a long time) but I would guess that where ever you go you will find the same directories.</P>
<P>Once you have the exact address you can go to the Multnomah County Assessor offices and look up the property records. In doing this I have <SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial; COLOR: black; FONT-SIZE: 12pt; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA">discovered</SPAN> when my relatives bought and sold the home they lived in. In a recent trip to another county in Oregon I <SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial; COLOR: black; FONT-SIZE: 12pt; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA">discovered</SPAN> that my aunt own the <SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial; COLOR: black; FONT-SIZE: 12pt; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA">property</SPAN> that my grandparents lived in. This fact changed my outlook of the relationship between my grandparents and my aunt.</P>
<P>If the address you have for Portland is after 1930 or 1931 (I am not sure of the exact year) you can <SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial; COLOR: black; FONT-SIZE: 12pt; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA">Google</SPAN> the address and most likely you will find it and the cross streets. In either 1930 or 31 Portland renamed all the streets and addresses. Again the Multnomah County Main Library has a book that can tell you the new address from the old (Pre 1930-31). This information maybe available at other locations but when I was doing my research I used the Library <SPAN style="FONT-FAMILY: Arial; COLOR: black; FONT-SIZE: 12pt; mso-fareast-font-family: 'Times New Roman'; mso-ansi-language: EN-US; mso-fareast-language: EN-US; mso-bidi-language: AR-SA">resources</SPAN>. </P>
