I have a book that I bought years ago thinking I could find a
descendant to send it home to. Maybe one of you would like to
have this. It is called "Realization" by Ernest Weltmer and it
is an inspirational religious type book. There is notation on
the cover that it was gifted to S.A. Kemp of Woodburn, OR by
Dr. Armstrong who was her doctor during the winter of
1912-1913.<br>

the family files on Rootsweb. I have already offered the
poster of these files the book and he declined since he is a
distant relative and thought it should go to a more closely
related person.<br>
Inside the book are more notations and newspaper clippings.
The clippings are more of an inspirational nature but some are
birth announcements and one clipping that I wanted to share
with everyone that is humorous. I don't know the name of the
paper but am betting it is the Oregonian. I will paste below.<br>

July 28, 1925<br>
Colonel Milton A Miller is perhaps the only man of the Pacific
Coast who was ever shaved by the late William J. Bryan.<br>
It was some time after the election of 1896 that Miller went
East to visit the Democratic leader in his home at Lincoln,
Neb.<br>
The Oregon man arrived late Saturday night. There was no time
for shaving. Sunday morning came and no barber shops were
open. Miller did not carry a razor.<br>
"We'll go to church together, Mr. Miller," said the host,
happily.<br>
"Well, Mr. Bryan, I don't look acceptable. I need a shave and
there's no place to get one," replied the Oregon man.<br>
"Come right in here," said Bryan, leading the way to the
bathroom.<br>
A big towel was quickly wrapped around Miller's neck, the
former candidate for president smeared his friend's face with
lather and in a few minutes Miller was shaved and ready for
church.<br>
"I surely do remember that several times he nearly took the
skin off me," said Miller. "But it was the most noted close
shave of my life."</font>
