It listed my maternal G-g'ma, Eloise Wheeler as mother-in-law living with a family I never heard of before. What happened apparently was that the census taker found a few extra people and entered them on a new page by family number from the other Silk Creek sheets. The family number by Loie is the same as Ernest Darnell, whose family she actually lived with and who was her son-in-law. What came out in the indexing was that the person above her on the page is coded as the family she is living with (no relation) and in doing a bit of follow- up this other family makes a fascinating connection between my Oregon mother and South African father, who met on a mission station in Africa in the 50's. seems this family moved to Silk Creek from Sioux City, Iowa, where my father's Dutch Grandfather was the county clerk for many years. Small world after all.

Roy Blaine
Sent from my iPhone

On Dec 1, 2012, at 11:33 AM, "Leslie Chapman" <opera_70@yahoo.com> wrote:

Okay, mystery solved, but why it doesn't show up any where else is a puzzler; Hazel Dell is Oakridge.
