William H. The MATNEY, COOPERS and MAUPINS are related in Oregon, came from MO – W.J. MATNEY was on the 1843 wagon train. I believe he traveled with Jesse Applegate’s cow train and was one of 200 scouts who built the first wagon road to Oregon. I believe he was also with Jesse when he found his Applegate trail in 1846 (?). Walter went back to MO in 1848 and brought his brothers back with him. They settled at Yreka, Ashland and Jacksonville, followed gold mining some. They didn’t seem to stay in one place, makes it very difficult to research them, but family tradition and some census records indicate Walter settled in Modoc County, while his brother Carrel settled in Siskiyou. Another brother, James, lived at Ashland, Jacksonville and Yreka. All made several trips across the plains between MO and OR. I do not know the parents of Julia Ann COOPER. Hope you can help.

On Jun 15, 2015, at 10:34 AM, W David Samuelsen <dsam52@sampubco.com> wrote:

Will Testators:

Maryland - Washington Vol A-D (1777-1848) 1419 testators
New York - Westchester co Vol 70-75 (1873-1875) 444 testators

Probate Files (including many guardianships/minors)
New York - Herkimer co Surnames B (1885-1890) 105 files
New York - Madison co (1874-1876) 235 Files COMPLETED!
Oregon - Benton co (1873-1896) 205 Files

Not limited to these ones, there are much more databases, showing:
Wills - 437559 testators
Guardianships that are recorded stand alone - 11676
letters testamentary - 1860
Probate files (including guardians/minors) 165729
Naturalizations - 74951 petitioners, 26763 including spouses and children
Miscellaneous Orders and Decrees (including court minutes), 3085
Letters of Administrations, 655

Free access, no required opt in or out, just walk in to see and walk out when done.

Site search is included

Much of the site is already mobile-ready.

http://www.sampubco.com

W.
