In the meantime Archives staff have been busy adding 1916 birth certificates to the Oregon Historical Records Index. So far the data entry has been completed through Malheur County. I will be adding the records incrementally as each county
is completed. Decided to do it that way so folks could search for them more quickly. If you have a county and date that you are pretty sure of you could go ahead and request the record from the Reference Staff (archives.reference@state.or.us)
but otherwise check out what we have indexed on the Oregon Historical Records Index at
http://genealogy.state.or.us/ . We also added a link to a request form from the search results page now to help streamline requests and make sure staff have all the pertinent information to complete the request.
