I don’t seem to be getting emails from it, and I used to get quite a lot. If it is, I need some help figuring out the identity of one of my great-great-grandfathers. Here is what I know:<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;margin-left:.5in;line-height:106%">His children were Charles August Murray, b. 26 Jan 1896 and Lilian Murray b. around 1898. Charles was born in Oakland, CA. It appears Lilian was born in WA.<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;margin-left:.5in;line-height:106%">I believe the mother of those children was Ida B. Kroschel, b. about 1869 in Milford Township, MN.<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;margin-left:.5in;line-height:106%">I think Ida and the father separated before 1900 because Ida is shown as head of household with two kids living in Linn County, OR in the census.<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;margin-left:.5in;line-height:106%">According to Charles August Murray’s prison questionnaire, Lilian was living in Los Angeles in March 1928. (His mom is listed as Ida Czarske because she remarried.)<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;margin-left:.5in;line-height:106%">The 1910 census shows unknown for the birthplace of the father of Charles and Lilian. But the 1920 census shows MA for birthplace of his father and MN for mother. I looked at all CA,OR, WA 1900 census records for Murray with birthplace of MA and did not find anything.<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;margin-left:.5in;line-height:106%">1930 census for Charles shows dad from Minnesota so who knows.<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="mso-margin-top-alt:0in;margin-right:0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt;margin-left:.5in;line-height:106%">My parents both did the autosomal DNA test with <a href="http://Ancestry.com">Ancestry.com</a>, but I don’t know how to use it to solve this puzzle.<o:p></o:p></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:8.0pt;line-height:106%">I’ve had this brick wall for years now. Any leads or tips will be most appreciated.
