I just wanted to let you all know that the State Archives received a large quantity of records this past summer from the Vital Records office. They include the 1903-1915 birth records, 1911-1945 marriage returns, 1925-1945 divorce returns,
and Delayed Birth filings 1903-1918. Below is a link to a form on our website that can be used to request copies of these records.

As you can tell from the messages from Les and Pat, not all of these records have online indexes.

The records are currently being scanned as part of a cooperative effort between Ancestry, Family Search, the Oregon State Archives and the Oregon Center for Health Statistics (aka Vital Records). Eventually the images and indexes will
be available on both the Ancestry and Family Search sites but that is a process that doesn’t happen fast so feel free to contact the Archives staff using the form above to access the hard copy of these records. Our charges are $5.00 for each document if you
have the complete date, and location. (There may be an additional out of state resident charge of $5 if you are living outside of Oregon) Our charges are considerably less that VitalCheck and our turn-around time is much quicker as well.

Save your money for your Holiday shopping and avoid the middleman. If you need a certified copy for legal purposes you will still need to go through the Vital Records office.
