I had a similar situation with my cousin and his brother were adopted out of the family when their mother died. I was a year older than him but I still remember going to his mother's funeral. I looked for him for many years. His brother stayed in the family but went to my father's step brother so I always knew where he was. Finally about five years ago on the Ancestry DNA site there was a match but the person had no tree. I contacted him (because you could do that then, not now) and asked him about his family. He answered back, "I don't know, I was adopted" anyway long story short we connected and I sent him pictures of his birth family including one when he was only about two years old. I wish it had a happy ending but unfortunately about two years ago he was killed in a head on car accident. I am thankful that I at least got to finally find him. He had a closed adoption and had even hired a private detective to help him find his birth parents. Finally his best friend told him to take the DNA test. It showed up on St. Patrick's day that year.<div>Another very lucky thing for me was that I had my mother's DNA tested and it revealed that the man she thought was her father, was really her step father. Her mother never married her father because he was shipped off to WWI before she even knew she was pregnant. I now have several new cousins with one of them being a first cousin who lives in Portland. I have yet to meet her in person but we have talked on the phone.</div><div>I just love genealogy.</div><div>Dale</div><div>P.S. my grandmother grew up in Milton Freewater.</div></div><div id="gmail-m_-7583643460950754193DAB4FAD8-2DD7-40BB-A1B8-4E2AA1F9FDF2"><br>

I have searched for my birth family for years as I was adopted at birth. Then about 3 years ago through Ancestry.com DNA I connected with a sister, so very exciting! Today I have close to 1000 family members in my tree. This includes both my father's and mother's families. My Father's name is Donald Eugene Crowe and my mother's name is Jeanne Fisk. As far as I know they never married. Two sisters one from each family have confirmed my relationship. I currently live in Oregon and belong to a local genealogy group. I recently learned that two of my ancestor families came to Oregon on the southern trail. Following is the information I have discovered. My 2nd Great Grand Father: William R Crowe: B:1802>Flint Hills, St Charles, Missouri 1850>Weber, Utah Territory 1853>Town?, Benton County, Oregon 1860 Butte, Benton, Oregon, D:1890 >Umatilla, Umatilla, Oregon. My Great Grandfather: William Perry Crowe: B:1829 >Flint Hills, St Charles, Missouri >1880 Milton, Umatilla, Oregon, >1900 Milton, Umatilla, Oregon, D:1900 >Milton-Freewater, Umatilla, Oregon. My Grandfather: Marion Douglas Crowe B:1861>Lane, Oregon >1880 Milton, Umatilla, Oregon >1900 Long Beach, Los Angeles, California, 1910>Santa Paula, Ventura, California >1920 D:1921 Long Beach, Los Angeles, California. I would greatly appreciate learning more about my families. Sincerely, David<br>
