<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal><FONT face="Times New Roman">David Moen will be the featured speaker at the February 3<SUP>rd</SUP> Oregon Archaeological Society meeting. His topic is the" Columbia Condors: Forgotten Giants of the Sky (cultural, historical, and ecological context of condors in the <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" /><st1:place w:st="on">Pacific Northwest</st1:place>)." </FONT></P>

<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal><FONT face="Times New Roman">Through his field surveys and research, Moen is endeavoring to fill the gap in our understanding of the condor's presence and historical/cultural role in <st1:State w:st="on">Oregon</st1:State> and <st1:State w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">Washington</st1:place></st1:State>. He has actively searched for evidence of possible former condor nest sites.<SPAN style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </SPAN></FONT></P>

<P style="MARGIN: 0in 0in 0pt" class=MsoNormal><FONT face="Times New Roman">Moen works as a species recovery biologist with the Oregon Zoo and US Forest Service. He has a background in cultural anthropology and education.</FONT></P>
