The position will include a significant field component, including 1 to 3 years of on-going fieldwork in primarily eastern and southern Oregon. Job duties include developing research designs, leading field projects, conducting archival research, technical report writing, and artifact analysis. Candidates must have experience with all phases of archaeological fieldwork, including survey, testing/evaluation, and data recovery excavations. The qualified candidate must have an MA or PhD degree in Anthropology with western U.S. Archaeology emphasis, at least 3 years of field experience, and at least 2 to 5 years of supervisory experience in positions of increasing responsibility in the context of Section 106 compliance; experience in historical archaeology is a plus. The preferred candidate will have working familiarity with federal laws, regulations, standards, and guidelines governing cultural resources, as well as with general cultural resource management practices. Experience with data recovery projects, preparation of research designs, and with northwest state laws is desired. Experience in the preparation of technical reports and proposals/budgets for projects is required. Ability to communicate directly with a variety of clients in the public and private sector is a necessity; experience interacting with THPOs and/or tribal cultural resource representatives is helpful. The applicant should have the ability to work both on their own initiative and as part of a team with other professionals in the company. The qualified candidate must have an MA or PhD degree in Anthropology with Archaeology emphasis or a related field, at least 10 years supervisory experience in the field of Cultural Resource Management, and a demonstrated record as an archaeological Principal Investigator for Phase II evaluations and Phase III mitigation. The candidate will have working experience with federal laws, regulations, standards, and guidelines governing cultural resources, as well as with general cultural resource management practices. Job duties include developing research designs, leading field projects, directing site file, report, and archival research, technical report writing, and directing various kinds of analyses. Additional duties, skills and experience appropriate to the CRM Division Manager position include: a firm understanding of the business of CRM; providing strategic direction for and participating in business development and client relations; oversight of Project Managers; leading and mentoring Division staff; overseeing inter-office project scheduling; preparing the Division’s annual budget and reviewing ongoing financial condition; and reviewing and approving major project technical proposals and budgets.
