<div dir="ltr">The Southern
Oregon University Laboratory of Anthropology (SOULA) and the
Oregon Parks and Recreation Department (OPRD) will be running an
archaeological field school this July in Gold Beach in Curry County on
the southern Oregon coast. We will be excavating at the Miner's Fort
site, where pioneer militia were besieged by Native American forces
during the spring of 1856, and the Geisel Monument, a pioneer homestead
burned down in February, 1856 during the Rogue River War. <br><br>As part of this project, each Wednesday in July, we
will host a public lecture at the Curry County Fairgrounds in Gold
Beach, 6:30pm.
